PRESERVATION
Paint Decontamination
Paint decontamination is not a standalone preservation strategy. It is a controlled process VDS uses when bonded contamination needs to be removed as part of preservation maintenance, paint restoration or preparation for protection.

THE VDS APPROACH
Decontamination Is a Process, Not the Strategy.
Decontamination removes material sitting on or bonded to the finish. It may support preservation maintenance, coating maintenance, paint restoration or protection preparation, but it is not automatically performed on every vehicle and it does not replace correction when defects exist within the paint system.
Inspect First
Understand the current condition, contamination and protection before deciding what work is justified.
Intervene Carefully
Use the least aggressive cleaning or decontamination process capable of producing the required result.
Plan Forward
Finish with a clear recommendation based on vehicle use, maintenance habits and the condition in front of us.
PRESERVATION OVER REPETITION
Do What the Vehicle Needs. Nothing More.
Preservation is intended to reduce unnecessary restorative work over the life of the vehicle. We do not automatically polish, recoat or aggressively decontaminate simply because time has passed.
Maintain condition. Support existing protection. Escalate only when the finish justifies it.
