RESTORE + PROTECT
Restoring clarity without unnecessarily removing paint.
This Mazda Miata project reflects the VDS restoration philosophy: understand the finish first, correct only what the result justifies and preserve as much original paint as practical.
Paint condition and visible defects are assessed under appropriate lighting to determine what can be safely improved.
Correction is tailored to the condition of the finish, targeting visible defects without removing more paint than necessary.
The objective is improved clarity, depth and gloss while accepting defects that should not be chased at the expense of the original finish.
RESTORE + PROTECT
Protection selected around how the vehicle will actually be used.
This BMW Z3 project demonstrates why protection begins before the coating bottle is opened. Preparation, paint condition, ownership plans and maintenance expectations all influence the protection strategy.
The finish is thoroughly prepared and inspected so protection is applied over a surface suitable for long-term performance.
Paint, glass, wheels and trim are considered around real-world use rather than simply choosing a coating by advertised duration.
The finished vehicle leaves with clear maintenance guidance so the protection can continue to perform as intended.
PRESERVATION
Maintaining the result after the initial work is complete.
This classic Ford project shows preservation as ongoing specialist care: assess what is already present, remove what should not be there and support the condition and protection already invested in.
The existing finish and protection are evaluated before deciding what maintenance or decontamination is actually required.
Cleaning and decontamination are matched to the vehicle and its existing protection rather than automatically repeating earlier work.
Protection is evaluated and maintained as needed to support appearance, performance and long-term condition.
