TRIM PROTECTION

Preserve Exterior Trim.
Don’t Simply Dress It.

Exterior plastic and textured trim live in constant exposure to UV, weather, road film and repeated washing. VDS cleans and prepares suitable trim before applying dedicated protection intended to support a cleaner, more uniform and easier-to-maintain finish.

WHY PROTECT TRIM?

Exterior Trim Faces Different Risks Than Paint.

Textured plastics and exterior trim can lose uniformity as they are exposed to sunlight, weather, contamination and cleaning. Protection is intended to preserve trim that is already in suitable condition—not disguise deterioration underneath.

01

UV & Weather Exposure

Dedicated protection helps support the appearance of exterior trim exposed to sunlight and changing weather.

02

Contamination Resistance

A protected surface can be easier to maintain when road film and everyday contamination are cleaned regularly.

03

More Uniform Appearance

Proper preparation and protection can help preserve a clean, consistent finish without relying on temporary glossy dressing.

04

Long-Term Maintenance

The objective is preservation: support easier ongoing care while reducing unnecessary aggressive cleaning and repeated dressing.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT APPROACH

Protection, Dressing and Restoration Are Different.

The condition of the trim determines what should happen next. VDS does not use protection as a shortcut for surfaces that first need corrective work.

PROTECTION

Preserve Suitable Trim.

For cleanable trim in good condition. The surface is prepared and protected to support appearance and future maintenance.

DRESSING

Temporary Appearance Change.

Dressings can temporarily darken or alter appearance, but they are not the same as properly prepared, dedicated trim protection.

RESTORATION

Address Deterioration First.

Faded, oxidized, stained or uneven trim may need restoration before protection can provide a result worth preserving.

Protection is not restoration. If the underlying trim condition needs corrective work, VDS will identify that before recommending a protection service.

THE VDS PROCESS

Preparation Determines the Result.

01

Inspect

Assess trim material, quantity, texture, condition and existing contamination or previous products.

02

Clean

Thoroughly clean the trim to remove road film, residue and surface contamination using material-appropriate methods.

03

Prepare

Remove unsuitable residue and prepare the surface so protection can bond to the trim rather than contamination.

04

Protect

Apply dedicated trim protection carefully and evenly across the selected prepared surfaces.

05

Maintain

Provide straightforward care guidance designed to preserve the result rather than repeatedly cover it with dressing.

REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

Protection Helps Preserve Condition. It Cannot Reverse Damage.

What It Can Do

  • Support resistance to weather and everyday contamination
  • Help properly maintained trim remain easier to clean
  • Preserve a cleaner, more uniform appearance
  • Reduce reliance on temporary cosmetic dressings

What It Does Not Do

  • Reverse permanent fading, oxidation or physical damage
  • Make neglected trim maintenance-free
  • Prevent scratches, scuffs or impact damage
  • Make every type of exterior plastic respond identically
Preserve the condition that is worth preserving.
